Stochastic Models for the Inference of Life Evolution

Modeling and Predicting Ecological Transitions

June 9, 2016

Many ecological systems can exhibit abrupt shifts between alternative steady states. Because of the large environmental and economic costs at stake, understanding those phenomena is of tremendous significance. This symposium will focus on the mathematical models that intend to unveil the underlying mechanisms, and predict the early warnings of ecological transitions. Talks will address both theoretical and experimental perspectives and should appeal to a broad audience.
